Discord is a free voice chat and fully-featured communication platform that allows you to message across multiple devices. Discord offers a unique combination of the structured nature of serious creativity and the spontaneity found in casual hangouts.

This is incredibly helpful for keeping large communities in check.

To our pleasant surprise, the mobile app version (for iOS and + Android) is bolstered. It captures almost all desktop features — calls run in the background, notifications are instant and the interface scales nicely to smaller displays. Keep in mind that desktop is a lot more well suited to managing intricate server settings or typing lengthy messages.

Two small quirks are the app is resource heavy on older phones and it may seem complicated to a new user at first (lots of roles, bots & server settings). Discord is also free, but the paid Nitro subscription ($9.99/month or $99.99/year) must be used to obtain larger file uploads (up to 500 MB), custom emojis on servers HD video streams and animated avatars as you know

On the whole, Discord is good for knitting everyone together. If your are organizing a raid in an online game or virtually hanging out with friends to watch movies, Discord can do it all — simply, seamlessly and reliably.
