1. Can I install Zoom desktop app on Chromebook?
No, the regular Zoom desktop client for Windows/Mac doesn't run here on Chrome OS. Instead, you either install the Zoom PWA (Progressive Web App) from the Google Play Store or through your Chrome web browser — then visit zoom. us.
2. How to share your Chromebook screen in Zoom?
In a meeting, click on the green Share Screen button in your toolbar. You have options for sharing the screen, a window or a tab. Sharing audio from your screen my not work in all models of Chromebooks.
3. My Zoom Microphone is not working, what should I do?
The first thing that you need to do is check your Chromebook system settings and see if the microphone has been muted. After that in Zoom navigate to Preferences > Audio and then select the right microphone input. If using the web app, ensure that Chrome can access your microphone (checked by clicking on lock icon to left of url).
4. If it is possible to use virtual backgrounds?
Yes, but only if you are running the Android app version of Zoom on your Chromebook. Virtual backgrounds with Chromebooks are only available on the web and PWA, not supported.
5. Can I record Zoom Meetings on a Chromebook?
You can record meetings to the cloud (requires a paid license). However, local recording to the hard drive on your Chromebook is not supported.
